This listing is a PREORDER for one bird bead support spindle. These spindles are typically between 0.5 and 0.7 oz (14 to 20 grams) and 10 1/2" to 10 3/4" (~27 cm) long. As maple, walnut, and padauk all have similar densities, the wood choices do not significantly affect the weight or performance of the spindle.
All spindles are precision balanced with non-visible balancing pins. Due to the thin 1/8" (3.25 mm) diameter flicking tip and relatively small whorl they have a fast spin, but also have a surprisingly long spin time for a spindle with a whorl that is not rim-weighted.
The spindle you will receive will be similar to those shown in the photos, but as these are all handmade some variation should be expected. Please allow up to 4 weeks for your spindle to be completed and ready to ship.
